About the project

Groote Schuur Hospital is one of South Africa’s busiest emergency and trauma centres. With one of the highest trauma burdens in the world, seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

A brand-new Emergency Centre will open in early 2026 to transform the way we deliver care — bringing emergency and trauma services together under one roof. But unless we raise R20 million for critical imaging, surgical, and life-support equipment, the Centre cannot function when the doors open.
